Ellen\’s Quilt Creations Foundation Piecing Patterns The following section consists of paper piecing kits and patterns. In each, you will find paper piecing directions and paper patterns. I suggest that you make copies of your patterns before you begin piecing, since once you make the block that uses up your pattern. That way if you make a mistake or want to make more blocks, you will have additional patterns available. In each kit there is ample fabric to complete the quilt as pictured – including borders and sashing where indicated. Fabrics may vary from what is pictured, according to availability. You will need to provide your own backing and batting to complete the quilt. After you finish, you may remove the paper backing if you wish. I leave the paper on most wall hangings because I do not wash then anyway and the paper backing adds to the quilt’s stability. If, however, I will be washing the quilt, then I use a product called “fundation”. Your pattern can be transferred onto this product by running it through a copier just as you would make copies of the pattern on paper. Fundation can be left in the finished quilt and washed and it is available in the supplies section of this website.
